Lamont R. Jones, MD, MBA, FACS, is a distinguished surgeon and researcher with expertise in otolaryngology, facial plastic, and craniofacial reconstructive surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana, followed by a medical degree and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery training at the University of Michigan. Dr. Jones further specialized through a fellowship in facial plastic and craniofacial reconstructive surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University and later obtained an MBA from Michigan State University’s Broad School of Business.
Currently, Dr. Jones serves as a senior staff physician in the Department of Otolaryngology, Head, and Neck Surgery at Henry Ford Health. He is also a professor in the departments of Otolaryngology and Surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Michigan State University, respectively.
A renowned surgeon-scientist, Dr. Jones is NIH-funded and internationally recognized for his expertise in keloid disease treatment and research. His clinical interests extend to craniofacial reconstruction, facial trauma, and facial aesthetics. He has received over $1 million in research funding from organizations such as Henry Ford Health and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). His work focuses on identifying biomarkers for keloid disease to enhance treatment outcomes and develop new therapeutic strategies.
Dr. Jones has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has been invited to lecture at prestigious institutions, including Stanford University, the University of Pennsylvania, Emory University, the University of Kansas, and the University of California, San Francisco. His expertise has also led him to speak internationally in China, Morocco, France, Australia, Singapore, and Italy.
Beyond his research and clinical work, Dr. Jones is dedicated to mentoring students and participating in international medical mission trips, reflecting his commitment to education and global healthcare.
